Jeannette Fuldauer-Tramhel will teach Legal Research and Writing to first year students. After obtaining her LLB in 1987, Jeannette practiced law in Ottawa with Scott & Aylen (now Borden Ladner Gervais) and then assumed positions with the Canadian Department of Agriculture and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. In 1994 she received her LLM (International and Comparative Law), with distinction, from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Jeannette then joined the Department of International Law at the Organization of American States, where she focused on issues in international commerce and trade, particularly within private international law. She was then invited to join the Legal Secretariat of the United Nations and served with the International Trade Law Branch in Vienna, Austria, which supports the work of the UN Commission on International Trade Law. While at UNCITRAL, Jeannette's role was to research and prepare background papers and draft legal texts on topics such as assignment in receivables financing, commercial arbitration and privately-funded infrastructure projects. A member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the New York State Bar, Jeannette has published extensively in the area of international law and trade and the international law of contract.
