Dr. Sanjeev Anand teaches and researches in the area of substantive criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, sentencing and constitutional law. He has published articles on topics such as young offender law, search and seizure, freedom of expression, hate propaganda and stalking. His articles have appeared in the Canadian Criminal Law Review, Criminal Law Quarterly, the Criminal Reports, National Journal of Constitutional Law, the Canadian Journal of Criminology, the Canadian Bar Review, the Queen's Law Journal and the Saskatchewan Law Review. Professor Anand held positions of Assistant Professor at the College of Law, University of Saskatchewan and Lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. Prior to entering the academy, Dr. Anand was Appellate Counsel for the Alberta Department of Justice. Before that he was a Crown Prosecutor in Edmonton. Professor Anand began his career as a Legal Aid staff lawyer whose practice primarily dealt with the defense of young offenders.
