Professor Mayo Moran is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. She served as Associate Dean from January 2000 to June 2002. Professor Moran completed her LL.B. at McGill University and subsequently obtained an LL.M. from the University of Michigan and an S.J.D from the University of Toronto. She has published in comparative constitutional law, private law, and legal and feminist theory. Her book Rethinking the Reasonable Person is forthcoming from Oxford University Press. Professor Moran's work focuses on how our practices and theories of responsibility come to terms with discrimination. She is currently engaged in a project on reparations theory and transitional justice that examines the limits and possibilities of law, particularly private law, in redressing widespread historic wrongdoing. Professor Moran is also involved in litigation, primarily involving the equality guarantee under the Charter and including the on-going Chinese Canadian Head Tax claim.
